外国でも平和を話し合うために

前回の平和記念式典についての課題への応募ありがとうございました。広島県府中町のＳＯＳ男さんはＢＯＮＵＳ問題で人類が平等に幸せに生きることの大切さに触れていました。平和への熱意が伝わってきました。

今回から始まる新バージョンでは平和記念公園での碑めぐりをテーマに短い英文を取り上げます。まずは文章を読んで、その後、質問に答えてね。単語のヒントをつけていますが、辞書もどんどん使って下さい。４つの質問は、文章の中に答えがあります。ＢＯＮＵＳ問題は自分の考えなどを自由に書いてね。

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is located in downtown Hiroshima. Before the atomic bombing, the area was a busy commercial and residential district called Nakajima. On August 6, 1945, the city of Hiroshima was destroyed by a single atomic bomb. Because this area was near the hypocenter, most of the people there were killed. The victims included residents, workers, and students helping to tear down buildings to create a fire lane.
